Questions Leaders Ask Before We Begin

Q1: What makes your coaching different from other executive coaches?

Most coaches bring either leadership expertise or business experience. I bring both, at the boardroom level. After 25 years, and as a CFO and Executive Director, I coach at the intersection of leadership behaviour and financial outcomes. I don't just help you lead better, but help you see exactly how your leadership shows up in your business results. That combination is rare. For leaders accountable for both people and profit, it makes a measurable difference.

Q3: How do you measure the outcomes of coaching?

We establish clear, specific outcomes at the start, what success looks like for you, your team, and your organisation. These become our compass throughout. Progress is tracked through observable behavioural shifts, regular reflection, and, where relevant, the business metrics.

Q5: How is confidentiality maintained?

Everything discussed in a coaching session remains strictly between us. In organisational engagements, I work with all parties upfront to establish clear agreements about what is shared.

Q7: How do we get started?

With a complimentary Discovery Call for about 15 minutes. We explore your context and priorities. I share how I work. We both assess whether the fit is right. If we move forward, I will design a customised engagement proposal outlining structure, focus, timeline, and outcomes. No pressure. No obligation. Just a conversation.

Q9: Do you work with organisations outside India?

Yes, regularly. I have coached leaders in the Middle East, USA, Africa, China etc. I have also facilitated workshops for organisations in Oman, Thailand etc. My approach is globally relevant while remaining sensitive to cultural context.

Q2: What does a typical coaching engagement look like?

Every engagement is customised. But most follow a clear structure. We begin with a discovery conversation to understand your context, priorities, and desired outcomes. Sessions are fortnightly or monthly, each 60 to 90 minutes. Engagements typically run six to twelve months, long enough to create sustainable change, not just surface-level shifts. For team coaching and workshops, the structure is co-designed with your organisation around your specific priorities.

Q4: Do you work with individuals or with organisations?

Both. And the two often go hand in hand. I work with individual CEOs and CXOs, leadership teams, management groups, and boards. Whether the starting point is a single leader or an entire organisation, the goal is always the same: leadership that drives business growth.

Q6: I have never worked with an executive coach before. Do I need one?

The leaders who gain the most from coaching are not those who are struggling but those already performing well who want to perform at an even higher level. If you are keen to grow further, then you must work with a coach. When all the top sports professionals work with a coach, why should it be any different in the corporate world?

Q8: Do you work virtually or in person?

Both — and equally effectively. In-person sessions are available in Chennai. Virtual sessions are conducted via video call for leaders across India and globally. For workshops and team coaching, I travel across India and internationally.

Q10: What is the investment involved?

Coaching at the executive level is a significant professional investment, one that consistently delivers returns far exceeding its cost in leadership effectiveness and business outcomes.
